Is it easy to become a software engineer today

Tue, 09 Mar 2021 20:26:57 GMT

Being a software engineer myself, I have noticed that these days people from many different fields are taking bootcamps and online courses to switch their careers. But that is not what makes me fascinated, the majority of these people are really experienced professionals in their respective fields, with many years of experience, and despite of that, they choose to take a big U-turn, and switch from what they were doing to make their living, to becoming software engineers, with a junior title.

So, this made me think:

why would they do that?
is it easy to take this risk?
and finally, is it worth it?

Let me begin with answering the first question, what is the reason that pushes people to switch their careers and become software engineers.
Some had enough of their jobs, yeah, I have met many persons that were telling me they choose to make this big change. They think that software engineering is more comfy than other jobs, some do not like wake up early to go and monitor a team of technicians on a construction site, others had enough of doing paperwork and calculations everyday, and some people, without even a high school degree, found it easy to pay for a few months on a bootcamp and have this well respected title.
For the second question, which is: 'is it easy to take the risk?', well it depends on the person, if you are single, living with your parents and have no bills to pay at the end of the month, yeah it will be easier for you to take the risk. But, for persons with family members to feed, and mortgages to pay, taking this risk is not something I would recommend, unless you have a big amount of dollars sitting at your bank account. From my perspective, as a software engineer with a degree of computer science, I can say that people I have met, coming from bootcamps are more of technicians who have learned to throw code without analysis. I would highly prefer to recruit people who think about what they will be doing and analyzing a problem before thinking of the solution directly.
Also, most of the bootcamps today are teaching people to become web developers but without knowledge in other fields like networking and security, this make it hard for us to collaborate and trying to explain solutions to them if they are part of our teams.
And let me finish this article by answering the last question, is it worth it?
Depends on you, if you are in the USA, where people are hired based on their skills and not their degree, I would really encourage you to follow this path, because it may be very rewarding (software engineers salaries are really high in the USA). If not, please study the market and do not be a Kamikaze, most of the companies around the world are still believing in degrees and they hire people based on that, so the decision is yours.
See you on the next article.

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 18:25:58 GMT

As an android lover and also a little gamer,I've tried to play pokemon go on my phone as everybody was trying to play it,I installed it,created my account, but the surprise was "GPS signal not found" that everybody was getting on their samsung phones or more ,ANDROID phones only.I searched for a solution and it worked, and now I'll show it to you.

It's all about this icon on the left side, first start by going to your settings, search for developper options on the bottom of the page "if you can't find it just skip all what I will tell you now",and click on it then disable mock locations.

Then download this lovely app from the appstore by clicking here then enable your gps called location on android and enter this app and click start service.
Now you are ready to play pokemon go,go hunt.

Extra advice: You want pikatchu, after creating your account they will show you three pokemons to catch for testing the application, don't catch them, get up and go out of your house get away from them four times,on the fourth time pikatchu will appear, catch him.

Is buying a refurbished phone from ebay a good deal?

Tue, 14 Mar 2017 00:00:00 GMT

Hey guys,I decided to share with you my experience in buying a phone,a refurbished samsung from a popular seller in this international website that I will not after this little test, yeah, I will not recommend you to buy any product that the words used or refurbished were included in his title or the descriptionm

So, i've been happy to buy a samsung galaxy s5 wich I am using to blog this post and that is awesome,I bought it for 160 bucks + 60$ for customs clearance, wich made it even with this cool price worth this dollars for it new phone look.
I charged the battery and it worked,I turned it on and it showed all the features but after 5 minutes the screen turned black,so i was stressed ,since even a return will cost me more than 80$ because the customs fees weren't refundable.
I contacted the seller trough ebay, and after three days of negociating with him,he proposed to return the phone wich was not possible,or get a 15$ refund,I choosed the little refund.
Then the phone screen turned again black, and that made me angry,I contacted the seller again, and what received is,the phone is no more in the guarantee period and that was not real.
Also, this phone is good at the performance, the audio is good and the micro is not working very well since all the guys who calls me tell me that they don't hear me,and the phone screen was half light sepia that doesn't appear to old people, lol, and the other half was good.
So,thanks guys for reading, hope that you don't buy something pre-used from ebay.

gokano.com:is it a scam or it's legit?

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 10:19:46 GMT

Hello guys, today I choosed to talk about gokano.com,the give-away website that is making a reputation since 2015,I've been a member of it and I've had an experience that no body have done with it.
I wanted to share with you a small review about it.

So,as I told you,I was a popular member of this website as I had more refferals than every member did and was getting 2GN for every refferal(GN=points that you redeem for prizes),so I wasn't giving importance to this points even if I had a chance to redeem them for expensive prizes like iphone 6 or a Motorola smartwatch.
What I did is being in a contest they organized, and I won by creating a video about their wesbite and getting the most views,I got 27000 views and other members were only having 120,200,500

views in the top of them,So they told me you won a go pro,I was happy and I told all my family(what stupid I am,now they forgot thank god) they asked me for my adress,I gave them my adress.
I waited for 1 month,2 months, then I became supicious I sent them a message on their facebook page they did not respond and there was a surprise:They also closed my account,I started spamming their facebook page and no answer were provided.
So guys, this is a wise advice don't play with them, they are scammers, even if you see prizes proofs on their facebook page, yeah they are giving awards but only to few peoples so that they get the most of the others.
Another point, how are they making money?
Really easy, they are getting millions of people surfing their website each day and watching the ads even without clicks and also they have the tasks and survey panel that they are geeting paid for.
